Research • X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy

Typical EXAFS SpectrumThis page contains information, tools, forms, and links that support our efforts in biological X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy (XAS).

for Prospective Users

  • The tutorial titled "X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopy of Metallobiomolecules. The Outskirts of Structural Biology" (pdf download) provides a practical introduction to the technique, its utility and limitations, and applications to biological problems.
  • Check out our practical guide to XAS Sample Preparation.
  • Email if you have questions.

for Our Collaborators

  • Here is a guide to XAS Sample Preparation as you generate samples for collaborative studies.
  • If you are using our 5-well cuvet, then you should read Submitting Samples in 5-well Cuvets
  • If you are using our low-volume 25-well cuvet, then you should read Submitting Samples in 25-well Cuvets
  • For each sample you provide, also send an electronic version of our Data Log Form (Word download), with shaded information at the top completed or the 25-Well Cuvet Log Form (Word download).
  • When your samples are ready to send, read the detailed Shipping Information.
  • Plots of XAS data we collect on your samples are available for download from our password-protected XAS Data Album.
